The African Association of Public Administration and Management and the Pan-African Strategy Group in partnership with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) have jointly organized a hybrid roundtable on single currency and fintech to boost intra-Africa trade and to enhance the implementation of the AfCFTA.
Expert express hopes that the Pan-African Payment and Settlement Systems (PAPS) of the African Exim Bank (Afrexim) can provide the pathway to the formalization of the widely informal trade across West Africa, which estimates about US$50billion.
Stakeholders are to contribute towards the attainment of the single African currency in support of the implementation of the AfCFTA. Organizations such as the AfCFTA Policy Network and Borderless Alliance also participated in the two-day conference.
