The Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, Wamkele Mene, pays a working visit to Niger to provide an update on the single continental market project to its champion and leader, Mahamadou Issoufou, especially on the conclusions that have been made to push the start of trading.
The AfCFTA boss informs that negotiation on rules of origin have reached 87.7percent with outstanding concerns around differences of use for three tariff line items namely automobiles, textiles and clothing and sugar.
Mr. Mene also calls on the Nigerien President Mohamed Bazoum for a similar briefing where he said the work of the Secretariat has become very intense and asked for his support and that of the Niger, as a party state
